You want to know more about how things work? I took the liberty of listing some of the most common Qs with (hopefully) satisfying As.
If your question is not answered here or anywhere else on the page please feel free to contact me.
How do we exchange files?
Can I send you entire ProTools/Logic/Cubase/StudioOne etc. projects?
Please don’t. I don’t own every DAW that exists and usually exchanging projects causes more trouble than anything else. I might not have certain plugins you used so you’d have to disable them and/or print half of your tracks first anyway and then there still might be compatibility issues.
Then how do I get my songs to you?
In every DAW there is a way to export the tracks individually. Take advantage of that feature. Please make sure all the tracks have the same starting point when exporting them, so they will line up perfectly when I import them into my session. Remember to print your midi tracks to an audio file and also make sure that important effects that are essential to the sound like creative reverbs and delays are included in the final files. If you’re having any trouble with this and/or are uncertain, let me know and I will be happy to assist you!
What format should the files be in?
Please send me 24 bit .wav or .aiff files at the sample rate you recorded in. Should your tracks for some reason be 16 bit audio that will work as well but 24 bit is preferable. Make sure to put them into a .zip file to make uploading and downloading easier.
How does payment work?
Payment will be done using PayPal because it is a quick, easy, and secure way to exchange money online. Please understand that I am asking for 50% of the price upfront. As soon as that money arrives in my account I will put your project in my calendar and send you an invoice for the rest upon completion. Should you not like the final result at all or decide to back out of our collaboration for whatever reason just let me know and I will give you a 100% refund. No questions asked.
